How to Make Emu Oil Arthritis Rub

Emu oil has been a favorite arthritis treatment and natural pain reliever in Australia for centuries and has recently been discovered in other parts of the world. It penetrates the skin easily and works well on muscles and joints where it can relieve arthritis and act as an effective, topical anti-inflammatory agent.

1/4 cup beeswax

5 tbsp. shea butter

A few drops peppermint essential oil (optional)

Small glass or plastic containers

Tips & Warnings

If the weather is warm, use less sweet almond oil and jojoba oil so the mixture won't become too thin.

Pesticide-free safflower oil or light cooking oil can be substituted for sweet almond oil.

A little emu oil goes a long way. If your skin feels oily after you use it, cut back on the amount next time.

Use peppermint oil sparingly. It is strong and, if overused, can burn the skin of sensitive individuals.
